Himalayan Salt Nasal Wash
Himalayan salt is the best choice for a nasal irrigation salt solution. You can buy pre-made packets of solution for your neti pot, but this recipe should save you money and is the best way to ensure that you are using clean, quality ingredients like our own Himalayan salt.
1 ¼ cup Himalayan salt
6 tablespoons baking soda
Combine the salt and baking soda in a mortar and pestle.
Grind the mixture until very fine.
Use approximately 1/2 tsp per 8 oz of tepid or lukewarm water.
Before you try the neti pot for the first time, a few safety tips. When you use the neti pot, the water should be lukewarm. You don’t want it to burn yourself or experience “brain freeze” like never before. If you’re using tap water, boil it or use a water filter. You can also use sterile water like distilled water. You’ll also want to clean the neti pot after each use as well.
It Takes Some a Little Getting Used To
The first time you try a neti pot is different. You’ll notice that your sinusitis or allergies will feel much better almost right as well, so keep up with it and the sensation of using a neti pot will soon become a normal part of everyday life.
